The biggest event for /v/ this year by a mile has to be the Sharty hack that took the website as a whole down for almost 2 weeks, with lots of the mod team leaving and user counts dropping even once the site returned. I couldn't not write a song for an event this massive for the site, there was a worry I might not even see another musical during the time the site was gone.
