At least Bowser's fury wasn't a kidnap plot again (which is against the mandate discourse) and had some decent character interaction outside of the big bad. I quite liked it even if it was short and sweet dlc type campaign. A second character (outside of companion attire characters like fludd or cappy) you can constantly work around with Mario that isn't just locked behind 100%, I'd that love in a new 3d game. It really feels like the speculation of it being a tech demo for a newer mainline 3d mario game was true, just hasn't happened yet.
