Thanks for the reply. I completely agree with everything you said. To be honest, I was already aware of that and I've already storyboardingmaxxed. In fact, my original post was done based on my emotional state as I was storyboarding. However, the marathon continues today as well and I feel better than yesterday. Thank you again for the post.

I completely agree with this as well, it just makes sense. In most cases you need to love the characters, because love leads to spending hours in your mind playing with them like action figures, or interacting with them as real humans, etc. one alternative to love is being an attention whore which is the Gege/fujimoto/dandadan type imo. There's also the "it's just a job, kill my soul" type like spy x family. Also the (at least partially) "treat it like a puzzle+TTRPG and solve it" type like togashi. My favorite is world trigger because all the characters and their world is so real. I'm fairly certain the writer has loved these characters for the entire run (15 years now)?
So yes I have been aware of your awesome point, and I've actually been consciously trying to find ways to love my characters, starting with making characters that appeal to me, making characters that are "literally me", taking traits from people I like IRL after analyzing why I like them, etc.
