We got a few people here who ship their chars with canon chars, so it's not like you came here asking for something abnormal. I suppose selfships are brainrot, but I think they also show passion for a medium you enjoy. Shipping helps breathe life into a fandom, and self-ships/ocs fall under that umbrella. If you wanna indulge yourself and be a little cringe by making an OC solely to ship with a canon character, go for it. Have some fun!
Like my stinky ass old Auror dude hardly has anything. He's a seasonal gacha game character that was around for a few weeks and then poofed. I'm at a point where I need to take some time and just create my own things. I got an art/edit archive, I got ideas for some projects, but yeah there aint much out there I gotta make it myself.
