A very constricted view on faith which would be expected from an ultrabeliever like the Popeman. I would put Mean Streets on my own personal list of Catholikinos. It's a great portrait of the layman believer who can't be as good and pure as the aspirational characters the Pope relates to and chose as exemplary models for the world to see.
