Is this worth buying if you never owned a Nintendo console, didn't grow up with Mario/Zelda and don't have le wholesome family to play with

As someone who didn't grow up playing Mario or Zelda, I can't think of a single reason to buy this console.

What's up with the recent trend of video game consoles being released with no games available?
What am I supposed to do with it?
Stare at it?
