Going to speculate a little for DRH.
Is Charlotte Miranda's kid? Maybe Dorothy's? Regardless of who she is, I do understand one thing, she is Red Hood. Her whole attire down to being portrayed with a lot of Black and White seems intentional to give an old vibe, and her name Charlotte could be evocative of the Red Hood author Charles Perrault.
So how come there's two Red Hood? If you recall correctly the version Leaf read was the one where Red Hood gets eaten by the wolf and dies and she rewrote it to have Red Hood kick his ass. Our current Red Hood is an edited version of Charles Perrault's story, much like how Grimm's version of Red Hood also rewrote the original. That is to say there are currently two Red Hood's, perhaps the fact that they are both variants of the same person explains Charlotte's weird attraction to Red. Upon realizing this I also came to the conclusion that even if Red could be brought back to life, would she still be the same Red Hood? She didn't seem to turn into a book when she passed away, and killing her in the Garden of TCO didn't seem like it dropped any books. Is this not a major red flag? What if the rewritten Red Hood book of Leaf is no longer a thing? Wouldn't that mean this Red Hood is lost forever?
