So many decades had passed since they were popular- but so many NEW aftermarket support parts have been released for this platform. The most recent ones being K-series engine swaps and even the US-legal newer ones like the L15B7 turbo engines from 2018 Civic Si. You can even do cool stuff like wireless key remote start for the ignition these days.
