People say the gap is 2 million, the real gap might be 5-10 million. PS5 might not even outsell the PS4

According to Sony, PS5 was 56 million sold through as of April 2024, then 77 million sold in, as of March 2025.
PS4 was 113.5 million sell through as of September 2020. They sold another 4 million PS4 consoles up to March 2022 when they stopped publishing numbers. Those numbers are included in PS5 sales.

Nobody can look at this generation and say it's healthy because of how many financial tricks Sony are pulling to obfuscate their poor sales.
