i love it, seems significantly better for tranners than any other country worldwide rn desu. we have good hrt options and a very strong social safety net. the unemployment benefit is lower than everywhere else, but you can stay on it basically forever, which isn't the case in most other places. surgeries options here have both increased in availability and reduced dramatically in price for us this decade. it doesn't seem likely that we'll ever see our right wing party pick us up as a hardline culture war issue.

i do wish the population was several times bigger though, it can feel small compared to america. i also wish we weren't experiencing a housing crisis though lol, house prices are by far the worst thing about living here. i hope the market crashes but it's probably propping up our entire economy and standing in for real gdp/productivity growth or whatever at this point so i don't know what will happen in that scenario really! i don't keep my savings or super exposed to anything australian so hopefully that can let me ride it out anyway
