Direct translations are impossible and insisting on it is retarded.

For example, how do you translate honorifics like like "anon-kun" vs. "anon-san"? You don't.
There is absolutely no equivalent in English.
You need to
a) translate the intended message in other ways, in other lines.
ie. Change words slightly to sound more jovial/polite, otherwise you miss the meaning in translation.
b) invent a completely new creole dialect of English that has Japanese honorifics.

And that's just the most obvious example.
Synonyms and translations do not ACTUALLY mean the same exact things.
Even word like "bread" means a different object in Germany/US/Italy/etc. because they have different styles of bread.

How do you translate "futon"? bed? bedroll? leave it as futon?
What about chabudai or genkan? at some point you are not translating, only transcribing.
