I checked "the Sopranos" on my collection and they have the necessary Subs embedded. As i could see, they have forced subs in both english and german if they're needed for the episode.

I pulled the following releases of each season:

Die.Sopranos.S03.German.DL.1080p.BluRay.x264-iNTENTiON
Die.Sopranos.S04.German.DL.1080p.BluRay.x264-iNTENTiON
Die.Sopranos.S05.German.DL.1080p.BluRay.x264-iNTENTiON
Die.Sopranos.S06.German.DL.1080p.BluRay.x264-iNTENTiON

They hold both the german and the english original audio, plus the needed subs in SRT format.

I renamed them later to my liking into cleartext format with Filebot and and had namegiven the video- audio- and subtitle files as seen in pic related, so i can chose in VLC from the menu.
