I wish people stopped repeating this bullshit. I don't even know who made up this fairy tale. Sure EA is a dogshit company but Dead Space remake sold very poorly. If your game goes on a heavy discount a mere month after publishing, you know you are fucked. The development cost easily over $100M. You would be better off buying gold than investing into Dead Space.
The mistake EA did was pumping so much money into DS2. While DS2 is one of my favorite games, it didn't end well for them back then either because it severely underperformed, again you would be better off buying gold. The second mistake EA made was trying to turn the franchise into something it wasn't with DS3. If they played the long game, they could've potentially built it into another RE franchise, but they were too shortsighted for that.

While I'm glad the story is 1:1 copy paste, I hate the gameplay is also 1:1 copy paste with minimal changes. I already have this game. I was hoping for a big jungle and storming enemies from all directions, but it's the same small room with a loading screen transition into another small room. I love MGS3 but I can already play it right now, this remake offers nothing but graphics. I'll skip it and play Cronos instead. Also fuck Nintendo.

If I get banned from a store it doesn't brick my PC. Even if they ban you from multiplayer, that should not brick the console itself. If you cannot download games and updates, that is essentially bricking the console.
