If it's my own homemade guilty pleasure, it'll be something from my southern ideal menu catalogue, some living testament to a grandmother most likely, 3-4 veggies, and perfectly grilled or roast pork served with a chutney or picalilli. I'll have something crunchy and satisfying, like fried green tomatoes, or fried okra, or a casserole topped with buttery ritz crumbs like creamy summer crookneck squash. Then something simmered like bacony mustard greens, pole beans or collards, and something piquant like stewed tomatoes. Fresh speckled butter means, sweet potato w/butter, or crisp sweet corn, maybe. Of course a nice cast iron of not too sweet cornbread.
