I know, but most men don't. They have image of a ideal woman, who holds the keys to the paradise. In modern lingo its a "tradwife". Almost any woman can be this ideal tradwife, so aquiring a gf elevates a man, in his own imagination, and in the minds of most men. Reality of relationships does not stain this fantasy.
I've been asked many times why I don't build my life around to impress women (and through aquiring a woman impress other men). I've been part of conversations where worth of words depend on amount of gf's, or amount of days when you last time had sex. If you aren't orientated towards women as the holy grail, your viewpoints are seen as outlandish and worthy of handwaving away. (I would say that women are closest thing to a religion average man has, the language of being mystically connected to a god, and being connected to a woman are very similar these days.)
Anyone can get an AI, so it fails to be something that works as status symbol. It will be like porn, everyone uses it, its aknowledged, but it doesn't really substitute women for social reasons. It will most likely, just line porn, make people's expectations unrealistic.
If easy hole and lipservice was all it took, thottery would have been demolished by first brothel.
