not true at all. BF2 had fucking commander elections at the beginning of every round. There was always some grognard spamming infantry spotted in chat. There were rules in nearly every server against "fighting commanders" because new players didn't know what the role even was. Artillery strikes were oppressive and hilarious. Mutiny votes were spammed all the time because commander was actually fun in BF2 (and 2142), unlike in BF4.
