The students are growing, they are changing, there aren't families. The students were once other people, but something happened, and they reset into new people, sensei says the new people they are is also just as real as their old identity, it's not fake, and they should follow through becoming the new people they are rather than looking back or regressing into what they once were. The terror is treated as a bad thing for a reason, regressing into your old identity is bad, you should move on and become a new person. They are growing and changing into new people already. Most of the time people hate the answer the game laid out in volume F it's usually for some fake reason they made in their head "well this means they're lying" when no that's not what it said, that's just you extrapolating something that isn't there.
