So in RAGE 2 the shotgun has an altfire, that when you hold the secondary trigger, converts every shot into a slug. How could you do this in real life? My only idea was each shell has a wad that completely contains the shot instead of being open at the front, so the shot is kept together like a wax slug. Then at the muzzle, there's some blades that score the wad somehow and open it, firing shot, and for the altfire, you can retract the blades so it stays a slug. What do you think?
