2's main weakness is that it becomes a globe-spanning adventure rather than learning one location like the back of your hand. There's still a lot of content but it's way more spread out and thus loses some of the charm. The Flutter is a lot comfier though, and feels like an actual home you can take with you, and there's still plenty of cute interactions spread throughout the game.

If we were doing them chronologically, it would have been the third one out. I'm not convinced it's happening. And if it's going to be a few more years down the line, that's just confirmation Crapcom have no plans at all for more Megaman games.
