No. Its very much a current generation Hollywood phenomenon. Hollywood has converted to a cult which is incredibly uptight and preachy about anything that contradicts the new orthodoxy so now you have them all scrambling to demonstrate how virtuous they are by trying to atone for their past sins against dogma.
