The Maid Writer is quite nice to type on, if you value mobility and like thumb typing. If you don't need LaTeX or similar advanced typesetting programs it is probably overkill.
An e-ink device which supports markdown could be nice. If you make a device with a very nice keyboard, I might buy it. As far as simple typewriters go, I usually prefer mechanical ones. It isn't as portable as a Maid Writer but if you go into a place where you can sit down it can be very nice to use the typewriter because it doesn't have diversions. All it does is stamp letters on a paper.
If you could make something that has the simplicity and noisiness of the mechanical typewriter, but it fits in a Maid Apron that count be nice, since the mechanical typewriters biggest weakness is being too large. Ideally it should be able to make physical papers easily. Maybe a combination of keyboard and printer? This way it works like a typewriter, except you don't get typos because you can make sure the document is correct before printing.
