So a problem with Nioh 1 is that the DLC released after a good number of players where already well into NG+ runs. So they really bumped the difficulty of the DLC missions in the first NG. You're actually supposed to go straight into NG+ after beating the main story and go back to NG DLC levels after you've done a fair bit.

PC player, so I'll take your word. But Nioh 1 looked on par with MGSV graphics, so that's why I made the comparison.
