I know it will earn a "two moar weeks" but I really feel a US invasion of gaza or egypt (sinai canal) would seal the deal and break the USA.
People are frothing at the mouth over gaza and troops on the ground would possibly cause riots on a large scale than the ones over floyd, and I suspect they would be way more violent.
The reason taking sinai for israel would be just as bad is due to the fact that the libyan and sudanese and other african nations' insurgents would have a new open path to join against israel.
That and even the staunchest US allies would get cold feet helping them.
Basically in that scenario egypt is way worse than iraq because insurgents are backed up with weapons and manpower on all sides.
Naturally the conflict would escalate meaning the USA would have to put a lot of troops into egypt, and would give russia and friends a chance to destroy so much NATO armor by giving tandem rockets and drones like it was candy.
Imagine the insane clips if NATO armor was bogged down in urban combat in egypt.
