Pansexuality is not the "polar opposite" of playersexuality. Veilguard did pair the unromanced companions with each other, and it was terrible and nobody liked it. The fact of the matter is that these narratives often revolve around the player character being extra special somehow. It's natural for the companions to be attracted to you (you're just that special) but they wouldn't necessarily fall for each other if they can't have you. That's just smashing dollies together without any care or logic just to check a box and is even more soulless than how you view BG3.
