Arch Linux's popularity and its consequences have been a disaster for the Linux community. I remember when "Install Gentoo" was just a silly /g/ meme poking fun at hobbyist distros but now people all over the internet unironically recommend Arch, which is nearly on the same level in terms of install complexity and post-install fiddling.
