Personally I enjoyed the whole Caos when the first pawn got kidnapped and the subsequent mass teleporting after the obelisk reached 100%
The danger of mental breaks, and starvation also helped to keep things interesting for a while but since most rooms are empty or only have clues to the general direction of the exit soon the wait starts to feel tedious.
I do think more monsters or just traps in general could help, either that or just make the doors take only 10 seconds to open and give the 60 seconds to the crates with loot
