Why are you trying to convince people to turn their countries into Brazil?
The favela is a 5-minutes city that nobody asked for. Literally peak comfy on the inside, even if it looks ugly on the outside. I like to think the favela exposes the ill of society. In Brazil's case, gentrification and bad zoning laws.
The benefits of the favela:
>can buy literally anything in 5 minutes, from cocain to a brand new PS5 or even anti-air defenses
>nobody will stick their nose in your business as long as you don't diddle children, rat out the turf chiefs to rivals or commit crimes against other favelados
>you can run a web reality show about gym bunnies, body builders, dwarves and trannies living in your favela penthouse
>you can buy million dollar homes for peanuts
>makes boomers and equity firms seethe because you degrade the value of their own price gouged rent by merely existing
It is a hard trade. Either you want beautiful cities where double-nationality citizens and their demonic geriatrics golems own everything, or you want an ugly city where people can actually buy homes.
Favelas are favoured in Brazil due to its hilly geography. They allow the brazilian family to reserve a last shred of dignity even if they are priced out of good living standards.
America had favelas during the great depression, and they worked perfectly reducing home prices for landlords and allowing dignity for families down on their luck. Better to have a favela than homeless overdosing on phentanyl.
