Agreed. I like the idea of it, a grounded medieval setting were magic is rare and dangerous and dragons are WMD's, with most still being normal humans. But at a certain point it's just "Rape! So cool and edgy right?! We can show tits too!" LOTR may be more fantastical, but it is also more mature and ages gracefully.
