I think people, and by people i do mean overwhelmingly women, occasionally refuse to tell the difference between fantasy and reality. Say I offered you a super nice sports car in real life. Its brand new, it works perfect… but if you ever drive it over the speed limit, the cops will impound it and youll never get to drive it again. Well, in real life, this would be incredible! For one, you could just sell it, and for another, there are plenty of places with very high/no speed limits you COULD still drive it in. In a fantasy scenario, this is super gay and lame. No one would play a video game about a sports car that bricked itself and became unplayable if you broke the speed limit. Real life competes with your current life, fantasy competes with other fantasies. Since i can fantasize about a sports car i can do anything with, the soorts car i cant do anything with is a lame concept. Its the same with women. There are millions of 4/10s i would totally date if they were nice, or shared interests with me, or whatever. I would never in a million years make a dating sim where you date 4/10s, because even if thats something that can be great in reality, it makes no sense as fantasy. People (women) see men complain about the entertainment products specifically designed to cater to their fantasies failing to do so and react as if they’ve insulted real ugly women, or a real black dude who showed up to a Renaissance Faire, or a real gay guy who hit on them. I could be friends with all three of those people in real life, but they simply dont fit in to my fantasies.
