Zhang Liao was cool with him desu. Sure he kinda projected his own sense of honor onto Lu Bu who definitely didn't live up to those expectations but he was still ride or die for him till the bitter end.

Unlike Lu Bu that offered his service to Cao Cao and still got executed, Zhang Liao was ready to accept his fate and only avoided death because Cao Cao offered to take him in.

There's also an absolute CHAD Gao Shun that never gets mentioned by Koei for some reason. IIRC when he got captured he either refused the offer or said something along the lines of "You're not my lord, don't talk to me" before execution.
