>What disturbs me is how Palestinian expats safe in Western countries and other Arabs are absolutely, positively demanding that no one be allowed to leave, even has they say Israel is commiting genocide. How does that make sense?
There is something disturbing about an intellectual in London saying "you staying there is a sacrifice I'm willing to pay." But one reason for this is because they think that they won't be able to return ever, and the Israelis will take land, and shift the demographic balance in their favor. That is not a crazy theory. But the Israelis complain a lot about UNRWA (which is a specific agency for Palestinians) because it keeps Palestinian refugees in a permanent state of limbo. Now, of course, it's rich that Israel complains about this because Israel drove those people out and they wound up in refugee camps (really, cities) in the surrounding countries where they are not citizens of those countries. I guess Jordan has given them citizenship over the years? But many of these refugees are stateless people, however, in practically every other case of this (i.e. the entire 20th century) refugees (a lot of them all over the world including Jews) were kicked out of places and there was no expectation of ever going back, so it was better to assimilate the refugees into their new country.
>Meanwhile, there are videos of people desperately pleading to be let into Egypt and stories of people offering their life savings for low probability chances to bribe their way out.
The Egyptians do take bribes but it's expensive, up to $10,000. Apparently around 100,000 Gazans have left since the war started.

>Kuwait ethnically cleansed their 500,000 Palies (really for no good reason)
I think it was because many sided with Saddam during the Iraqi invasion? Saddam put himself forward as the big champion of the Palestinians in the 1970s, 1980s.
