I try to imagine the shapes in 3D space to get an idea. I am going into this not knowing much at all attempting to right wrongs to the best of my ability.
Wish I could say the inconsistent shading was on purpose, other than the bellies it was not on purpose at all, and thanks for pointing that error out something else just clicked.
Stylistically speaking, I am following what a bunch of the simpler art styles of artists do to make it easier for me until I git gudder.
I am very new to shading anything so any sources or recommendation that don't teach 'le bad habits' are very much welcome.
