Take a card that you like conceptually but doesn't see play for whatever reason. Slightly change it without making it broken so that it would see play. I'll start:
1C Instant
Kicker: 1C
Create a 0/1 Eldrazi spawn. Create 2 if the kicker cost was paid.
Choose one
- Exile target creature if it's power or toughness is 1 or less.
- Counter target spell if it's a sorcery.
If the kicker cost was paid choose both.
The "if" wording on the modes is so you can select 'illegal' targets if you just want to ramp for some reason.
