Not at all.
A custom/target/match grade 1911 sure.
But the issue with Snake's 1911 is the threaded barrel, the Nielson device hadn't been invented yet, and Browning type actions would not function with the added weight of the suppressor. This why you see the use of uncommon suppressed handguns in the actual Vietnam War. They were missing a piece to the puzzle and couldn't turn an issued item into a suppressed weapon and had to use a bunch of odd ball guns like various Berettas, Walthers, and other fixed barreled pistols and the Welrod, unless they were issued the MK22 Hush-puppy, which is in the game.... just need a gunsmith to alchemically create a tranquilizer 9mm cartridge but guys had custom weapons in the past so that must not be a stretch either....
(BUT it is cool and the idea of a Suppressed 45 ACP 1911 (Theoretically) would be the lineage of the HK MK23 (Conceptually) and the MK23 is in 'later'(Earlier) games so duh they have to give you a chimpanzee if they can't get a man. Excuse the anachronism, Kojima-sama is a genius.)
