As the other guy says above though, Cherone wasn't the problem with Van Halen III, it was Eddie's alcoholism. Cherone could bring the goods live and the setlists were great during his stint - he wasn't a bitch about doing the Roth stuff like Hagar was but then he also had the vocal chops to do the Hagar stuff which Roth wouldn't (and probably couldn't) do.
