it means no one is allowed to shop in-person. but everything is unlocked there. way back in the day, stuff in stores was just sitting out in the open on shelves. no cages/glass lock-ups. so you didn't have to hunt down an employee with the key for 25 minutes before you could get your socks. you could just walk in, go to what you wanted, grab it, then pay for it. it was wild. also, water was free.
