"just don't be fat" doesn't work for most women either. Also, women can't cheat out of ugliness by lifting like most men can. They depend much more on genetics and are also screwed over by aging much more. A woman will have to dedicate hours every single day to look good in her 40s and beyond. Men just need the basic 3 hours a week of lifting, plus yoga and cardio if you want to feel elite.
