I think it's a tradeoff of his resonance ability. He doesn't seem to be able to fight himself physically, or else we'd have seen him do it
He basically traded any ability to fight himself with absurd reality warping
In theory i suppose he could just write 'I'm the strongest Resonator alive' and be strong enough to fight through
