The sword clashing mechanic looks nice. I know it first started in onimusha but I am reminded of weapon clashes also in for honor. That was sick.
Wuchang also had weapon clashes which is a mechanic that almost no soulsgame has, because stuff like parries and blocks were a dedicated button instead of making your weapons hitting the enemy weapon at the same time being the trigger for it.

Because it's used for clashing. Once you get your stuff going on, you drop using light and just spam heavies because just like other weapons, you get numerous ways to generate feathers. For DB's case, you generate one feather everytime you clash with the enemy. So just mashing heavies with DB means you have a very positive feather economy and allows you to just spam whatever spells or skills you got.

You just need to time your attacks at the same time the enemy is also about to hit you. It works best on enemies who do combos with a lot of hits. Just mash light attacks or enhanced heavies/discipline attacks. Any attack that hits the enemy's attack hit box will trigger a clash. This basically allows you to trade with enemies.
