Was that website ever good?
Who even "coined" the conflict ball? You need to explain so much to get the logic across... oh uh it's a uh... conflict happens... and characters uh... are invested because... well imagine a ball... and uh... the author has it... and threw it to the uh... character... and now he/she's acting really silly... um... so when multiple characters are acting silly... that's called uh... apple of discord... but also idiot ball... which is like conflict ball but for idiots... and uh... what if we just called the literary trope a "Race for the macguffin", how about you get us the tvtropes page for that one because this is just characters with competing interests, anon, it's normal writing and not shitty writing.
