I don't care about games being art. Couldn't care less about the artistic merit of games as I only care more about the different ways in which games can be played and enjoyed. I wish stuff like VR and AR would become advanced enough to surpass the shit seen in Digimon, dot Hack or SAO. I wish this art debate would end and appreciate video games for the things that the medium could achieve that other forms of media cannot accomplish. Anything can be artistic; therefore, I don't think being artistic is anything special. But being able to remove the boundaries between the real world and that of fantasy is something that ONLY video games can hope to achieve.

Plus, video games can be enjoyed as an artistic medium like any form of entertainment, but video games can also be enjoyed competitively whether its PVP, arcade high scores, achievement hunting. It can be enjoyed with friends even if they're on the other side of thr planet. And games themselves are modular thanks to modding, emulation, and the many different ways games can be played these days. Those are things that video games have over art, music, comics, manga, etc, and I wish people would appreciate these aspects of gaming instead of being hyper fixated on artistic merit.

Also, super hero comic books are fucking shit. They are literal slop, and comic book writers are among the most spiteful, hate-filled creators in the industry. They HATE their fans and actively try to shit on them. At least game devs who shit on fans eventually meet their day of reckoning while respectful game devs make it. If the comic book industry functioned as it should, then talentless hacks like Dan Slott, Nick Lowe, Brian Michael Bendis, Zeb Wells and Tom Brevoort would be blacklisted from the industry. The amount of damage these men did to Spider-Man, Superman and the X-Men is irrepairable. With Spider-Man, it's even crazier that Stan Lee publicly disavowed OMD with pic related, yet these hacks think they know better.
