Why don't they do [thing] to stop drones?
Because they're cannon fodder and it doesn't matter. They're dragged out of highschools and prisons to go die for bankers. It might be the entire point that they die, they're clearing the area for something else.
With enough budget and/or training, drones can become disabled in many ways. Whether it's shooting them down skillfully with birdshot, or Palmer Luckey's Anvil or that other thing that just makes every drone in the area drop like a dead fly.
Notice how most (if not all) "drone kills" are men who are already down and defeated. Possibly POWs or AWOL... men without backup, without strength left and without ammo.
