Sword has the weakest midrange of the entire roster. Play

Building wide past T6 is how you lose as Sword with the exception of Mag/Ame. You need to build wide before the T5 board clears, and then finish them off with Albert/Ravening/Centaur. You cannot build a board again past T5 and you need to accept that. Magus is there because stops wide aggression (Sword/Forest) and can be used followed by Ambush Valse to bait something like Glade or Salefa.
