The Classic/Modern split is good because thematically and tonally Classic Sonic is different from Modern Sonic; if this wasn't the case ST would not have felt the need to redesigned Sonic for Adventure and attempts to make one Sonic more like wouldn't be so contrived.

Sonic should be like Megaman and embrace the different iterations of itself to properly cater to the diverse/divided fanbase it has created over the years without compromising segments in an attempt to please everyone
