If we're talking about Alice expies, might I add in my own:
For context, in the fantasy land that my story takes place in, the number of humans is at an all time low with only a few scattered populations on the planet; talking animals who have progressed to a medieval level of technological advancement believe humans to be mythical beasts like dragons or griffins and capable of bending reality to their whim. One day, one of the members of the talking animal society finds a population of these rare humans and finds that they have a rich culture filled with many stories. One such story is known as The Magic Telescope and details the adventure of Elisa, a young girl who finds the eponymous device sitting ominously at the beach and, upon peering into the lens, finds herself magically transported into the middle of a war between the Kingdoms of Light and Shadow. Found by the Knight of Light, Elisa is enlisted into the ranks of the Kingdom of Light and is given a variety of Herculean trials to prove her worth to the cause, such as bringing down the Elephengine or taking the Queen of Light's place in a footrace against the swift Queen of Shadows, and, in exchange for completing these tasks, she can earn her rank, take down the Kingdom of Shadow and, ultimately, return home. Assisted by the Knight of Light and some animal familiars consisting of a hedgehog, a fox, and a badger, Elisa completes these tasks only for her guide to die in combat against the Shadow Knight. With her ally's death, however, Elisa is able to earn her rank and takes down the Shadow Knight in single combat and finds that her enemy is actually the Prince of Shadow, son of the King and Queen of the Kingdom of Shadow. Using the prince as a distraction, Elisa storms the Castle of Shadow with her animal familiars and checkmates the King, winning the war for the Kingdom of Light. After this, she is sent home and finds that she had dreamt the whole story.
The origin is interesting.
