1911 really is the best pistol, but finding one off the shelf with good fitment and blending is such a crapshoot. I had to go to three different Academies to fingerfuck stainless Springfield Garrisons until I found one that wasn't a rattletrap. The one I bought shoots like a dream, but the slide-to-frame fitment is so tight that I can't disassemble it. I'll probably have to whack it apart with a rubber mallet or swallow my pride and send it back to Springfield for warranty work. It's starting to malfunction after about 800 rounds thought it, and all I can do it squirt Ballistol and white lithium grease on it and hope for the best. It sucks because I wanted to carry it. The trigger and recoil impulse from a 5" steel 1911 is so nice compared to some plastic piece of crap like the USP.
