Genesis/Eden is still going on. All of biblical lore is "conceptually generated mythological texts referring to here and now". That's how to get anything out of biblical studies overall; percieving it as some sort of theoretical historical era in the past doesn't lead to that many useful conclusions.
"Tree of Knowledge; tree of death" refers to "The Qliphoth". Something about there being "two trees to study" refers to the Sephiroth and the Qliphoth.
Not that many humans are well-educated on either btw; neither Sephiroth nor Qliphoth is things written down by human scholars; ie there's no "well educated hebrew scholars that actually understand that much about either tree"; all such things are spiritually generated diagrams etc to study.
