That "wide path" you'll sometimes see isn't exclusive to them, all enemies will do that as you're moving while they try to figure out the best way to get in a tile close to you. The goats otherwise mob you like the rest. Hidden are trickier to evaluate since they're invisible until they're in your face but I haven't felt much different behavior.

In D1, enemies line up to get bonked through doorways. You won't always have them like in hell, but likewise you won't always be able to just run around mobs in D2.
I'll test some Act V imps later but I recall them behaving similar to the fetishes from Act III.
