necrons are fun.

big range, pretty much 100% modern plastic kits, space egypt stargate lore, has a shit ton of named characters but also significant yourdudes potential. can build melee or ranged, fast or slow, has combined arms and support characters but also has big fuckoff monster characters, and a decent array of tanks and flyers. very different aesthetic from space marines. easy but satisfying to paint
