Same thing for me although I never really made it big in streaming.
It's just happened to me in game servers/communities. People start recognizing me because of the things I do in the game and I just start feeling uncomfortable because of it even if it isn't bad attention. So eventually I just stop playing and maybe come back later on an alt. In general I just hate being recognized, be it out in public or on this anonymous imageboard where I waste so much time. I kinda wish I wasn't this autistic.
